FBR Ends Tax Officers’ Weekly Holiday to Achieve FY25 Tax Collection Target

To reach the updated income target for the current fiscal year, the Federal Board of income (FBR) has instructed all field formations to implement proactive enforcement actions.
in accordance with guidelines that the FBR gave to the Chief Commissioners of Inland Revenue about the collection of taxes and duties in Fiscal Year 2025.
Proactive enforcement actions are necessary to meet the goals for Fiscal Year 2024–2025. Therefore, until June 30, 2025, all LTOs, MTOs, CTOs, and RTOs are required to respect Saturdays as regular working days, according to the notification.
It is important to remember that the Revenue Division was permitted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to lower the yearly tax target for the current year from Rs. 12,970 billion to Rs. 12,370 billion.
Over the first nine months, the FBR’s revenue gap grew to Rs. 700 billion.
