Solar Panel and Battery Prices Reportedly Decrease Massively Across Pakistan

In April 2025, there has apparently been a significant drop in the cost of solar equipment and UPS batteries in Pakistan.

Customers looking for alternate energy sources in the face of persistent power outages will be much relieved by this.

Market data indicates that this month has seen a considerable decrease in the cost of both lithium and tubular batteries:

  •  Lithium Battery
    • Previous Price: Rs. 400,000
    • New Price: Rs. 380,000
    •  Reduction: Rs. 20,000
  • Tubular Battery
    •  Previous Price: Rs. 70,000
    • New Price: Rs. 55,000
    •  Reduction: Rs. 15,000

It is anticipated that this price reduction will increase consumers’ access to power backup options during the summer.

Rates for solar panels have also significantly decreased, in addition to battery costs. In comparison to prior months, the price has significantly decreased to Rs. 28 per watt. Industry analysts credit supporting government policies and a rise in imports for this trend.

Awais Leghari, the Federal Minister for Energy, recently said that Pakistan imported 8,000 megawatts of solar panels last year. The government is currently developing plans to set up regional production facilities for solar inverters and other associated equipment, he continued.
