NAB Recovers 204 Kanal Land Allegedly Transferred Illegally to Bahria Town

Over 204 kanals of land that were purportedly transferred to Malik Riaz’s Bahria Town in Lahore without any valid reason have been successfully retrieved by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The land was once owned by the Official Employees Cooperative Housing Society Ltd. and is located in Tehsil Raiwind, Mauza Manak, and Mauza Bhai Kot in Lahore.
The NAB claims that officials from Bahria Town Lahore, the revenue department, and the housing society colluded to fraudulently transfer the land, which had a billion rupee value. After an investigation by the NAB, the illicit transfer was made public, according to a national daily. The OECHS housing society now owns the entire property again.
Currently living in the United Arab Emirates, Malik Riaz has been named as an alleged absconder in the Al-Qadir Trust case, which resulted in the conviction of former prime minister Imran Khan. NAB has declared its intention to use Interpol to request Riaz’s extradition in relation to the £190 million repatriation case that the UK’s National Crime Agency is looking into.
Many assets connected to Malik Riaz and Bahria Town have been frozen by NAB on suspicion of unlawfully occupying both public and private land. A planned building in Dubai is among the Bahria Town projects that the bureau has cautioned the public against investing in.
