Rupee Again Ends Week With Losses Against All Big Currencies

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) opened trading at 280 in the interbank market today and ended the day in negative territory versus the US dollar (USD) for the second consecutive day.

The interbank rate spent the majority of the day at 280–281/$ on a day-on-day (DoD) basis before closing at 280. Today, open market rates at several currency counters stayed at the 281 mark.

It closed in red versus the greenback after remaining steady throughout the day. During today’s session, it reported losses in relation to the majority of the other major currencies.

After losing nine paisas, the PKR fell by 0.03 percent DoD and ended the day at 280.71 versus the US dollar.

The PKR has lost 0.85% versus the US dollar so far this fiscal year (FYTD).

In the interbank market today, the PKR traded down against the majority of the other major currencies.

It suffered losses of three paisas versus the Saudi Riyal (SAR) and two paisas against the UAE Dirham (AED). In the meantime, it dropped 12 paisas in value relative to the Canadian dollar (CAD).

The rupee fell 52 paisas against the Australian dollar (AUD) on today’s interbank currency market.

It lost 77 paisas versus the British Pound (GBP), but it gained 14 paisas against the Euro (EUR).
