47 Pakistani Universities Shine in Asia University Rankings 2025 by Times Higher Education

According to the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2025, Pakistan’s higher education system has achieved a significant milestone, with 47 universities securing spots among Asia’s leading research institutions.
With Quaid-i-Azam University at the top of the country and a number of other universities making significant progress, the rankings demonstrate the expanding regional prominence of Pakistani universities.

Based on information from the official THE website, the following table includes Pakistani universities that are part of the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2025.

Additionally, 47 institutions were classified as “reporters,” meaning they submitted data but did not meet the criteria for an official rating.

 

Using 18 performance categories that include teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and global vision, the THE Asia University Rankings 2025 examine 853 institutions in 35 countries.

According to the rankings, Pakistan shares the 14th position globally with Taiwan and ranks as the sixth most represented country in Asia. This reflects a steady upward trend, having moved up from 29th in 2023, 21st in 2022, and 16th in 2021. Additionally, it marks a 17.5% increase compared to the 40 colleges rated the previous year.
