Foreign Investors Repatriate $1.7 Billion Profit Out of Pakistan in 9 Months

The first nine months of the current fiscal year saw a 107 percent increase in the repatriation of profits and dividends from foreign investments in Pakistan (9MFY25).

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reports that foreign investors returned $1.708 billion between July and March of FY25, a significant increase of $882.7 million above the $826 million repatriated during the same period in FY24.

The repatriation of profits and dividends in Pakistan reached $157.9 million in March 2025, a 140 percent YoY | -32.3 percent MoM rise.

According to SBP data, the Power sector saw the most outflow of earnings and dividends in March, with $83.3 million in 9MFY25—a 1,802 percent rise from the year before.

The cement industry finished in third place with $12.3 million in outflows during the time under consideration, followed by the financial business sector with $21.6 million in repatriations.
