FBR Extends Sales Tax, Federal Excise Returns Deadline

The deadline for filing sales tax and federal excise returns for the March 2025 tax period has been extended by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to April 25, 2025.
Chief Commissioners of Inland Revenue, Large Taxpayers Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) have received directives from the FBR on Friday on this matter.
Using the authority granted by sections 74 of the Sales Tax Act of 1990 and 43 of the Federal Excise Act of 2005, the FBR has ordered that the April 13, 2025, deadline for filing the Sales Tax and Federal Excise Return for the tax period of February 2025 be extended to April 25, 2025, provided that the outstanding sales tax liability has been deposited by the deadline.
According to FBR, the deadline for filing the Sales Tax and Federal Excise Return for the tax period of March 2025, which was originally set for April 18, 2025, has been extended to April 25, 2025, provided that the outstanding sales tax amount has been deposited by the deadline.
