Islamabad Schools to Get New Story-Based Textbooks

A new collection of textbooks for grades 1–5 has been introduced by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and will be used in Islamabad’s schools starting in the 2025 school year.
The Federal Secretary for Education oversaw the development of the new textbooks, which adhere to Pakistan’s National Curriculum and include QR codes that enable teachers and students to access the content online in addition to printed editions.
Officials claim that the textbooks incorporate interactive exercises, story-based learning, and resources to foster creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. They are also supposed to guarantee diversity and represent local culture.
The digital textbooks will be pre-loaded on school Chromebooks and ICT lab computers to facilitate this digital transition. The action is a part of our endeavour to give everyone access to high-quality educational resources.
FDE has urged educators to fully utilise print and digital resources in order to raise student engagement and improve the educational process as a whole.
