Islamabad Airport Cargo Charges Spike to Highest Level Since 2021

The cargo throughput charges at Islamabad International Airport increased significantly in March 2025, reaching Rs. 72.3 million, the largest monthly revenue since November 2021, when it was Rs. 49 million.
Airport fees for handling airborne cargo are known as cargo throughput charges.
These include the expenses related to cargo processing, loading, unloading, and storage at the airport terminal.
The main reason for the increase is that M/s SF Cargo started operating regular import cargo flights between Urumqi and Islamabad using B757-200 aircraft.
The service now operates twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays, carrying roughly 22,775 kg of goods every flight under flight numbers 03-233/234. In the near future, the airline intends to boost its frequency to four weekly trips.
