Windscreen Prices in Islamabad and Rawalpindi Record Shocking Increase After Destructive Hailstorm

An unexpected hailstorm that passed through Rawalpindi and Islamabad earlier this week seriously damaged many cars, which increased demand for auto glass and led prices to rise quickly.

Many cars throughout the city have cracked mirrors, dented roofs, and smashed windshields as a result of the storm, which came with no warning. Car owners have been frantically searching for replacement components as a result, only to find that major auto marketplaces have run out of supply.

Shop owners in Rawalpindi claim that their supply of conventional windscreens has ran out. Additionally, there has been a significant rise in their pricing.

Nowadays, a windshield that used to cost Rs. 15,000 might now cost up to Rs. 35,000, if it’s even available. Smaller glass parts that used to cost between Rs. 100 and Rs. 200 can now cost up to Rs. 1,000.

Sources in the market reported that since the storm, stores had seen considerably more consumers than usual. Due to supply chain constraints, suppliers have temporarily ceased taking new orders, and numerous stores claim to be out of stock.

Only windshields for premium or rare cars are still available, according to Saddar traders, and their costs have gone up by Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 in recent days.
